Bernhard Heisig - Die Wut der Bilder opened this weekend. Now's your chance to compare Heisig's and Immendorf's work. Might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I would totally try to do both on the same day, just to see what kinds of associations surface.

If I can make that happen, I'll write it up here.

the company i keep

Sattva points out a list of anglophone Berlin blogs, including mine. Even though I'm only posing as a Berliner. I'm in good company there, so I think I'll keep mum (besides, they seem to realize that I'm not actually vor Ort).

[thanks for the pointer]

What're you doing the first week of November?

I will be visiting Berlin, where I plan to go to "my" archive, see some museum stuff, buy books and lebkuchen (denn den Caro-kaffe kann ich ja hier kriegen), and perhaps see some bloggers. If y'all are around, meldet euch! I was thinking maybe a nice long evening in [fill in name of pleasant P'berg or K'berg bar]. We'll be P'berg-based.

I'm feeling rather nervous about the trip, because I'll be leaving before my Very Important Life-determining Meeting has taken place, but I figure, why not fret about what I wrote somewhere more interesting than here? Can't do anything about it anyway...

Marbles are there to be lost

If I weren't in the very, very last days of pre-defense edits, I would totally be making one of these over the weekend. There's instructions and templates to download and everything (only in German though).

Sadly I'll be losing other marbles instead.
