A list of common mistakes made by (advanced, I should think) learners of English. I make some of them, too.
#60 The verb 'to discuss' means to talk about. Hence it is tautologous to say 'to discuss about'. This is like saying 'to talk about about'!!!!
Tautologous, eh?
I'm not sure why, but I enjoy reading this kind of thing.

That is very interesting. I have a few German friends that make many of these mistakes when they speak. Most of the time I correct them. I have one friend who always says "in former times," and I told that "used to" was more accepted. He stills says it all the time I have actually found myself using it a few times.
Is there a list like this for non-native speakers of German? Also, ungekehrt?

I know, it's funny how easy it is to pick up mannerisms, even when they're wrong. And I haven't seen anything for German speakers, but I haven't looked! I'm sure I could use one, though. Anyone?
